At the age of 12 Chris started training in ITF Taekwondo and at the age of 16 obtained his Black belt (2nd degree Black belt aged 19)  he then started his apprenticeship to become a full time instructor. He has Competed all over the world for both ITF Scotland and Team UK. He's won numerous Scottish and British titles in both ITF Taekwondo and WKO kickboxing and was ranked 4th in the world in the ITF World Championships in Canada.

He holds level 2 and 3 in fitness and has completed Workshops in kettlebell training, pad holding and kids specific training. He runs our Female classes, Little nippers, Kicking kids and Teen stand up classes. 

Chris likes a challenge and is great to train with whether your new to fitness or a pro. He's available for Personal training (all ages), Group sessions and specific training in Boxing, Kickboxing and Traditional martial arts (ITF Taekwondo)

Nick started his martial art journey at the age of 13 doing Zen Do Kai Karate in which obtained his black belt. With over 33 years of experience, and having fought in kickboxing, boxing and Thai boxing with great success. He's learnt from some of the best over the years from all around the world and his experience shows in my sessions.

He is recently back in Melbourne from overseas (Thailand) where he was living and training fighters.

Whether you’re looking for your first fight, title fight, championship fight, technique work or a fitness based workout, Nick can look after you.

Here's a few of his titles:

    • VBLE state boxing cruiser weight champion
    • ISKA light heavyweight Australian champion
    • WMTA world light heavyweight Australian champion
    • Australian striking coach for the UFC TUF series (Australia vs UK)
    • Acted as ‘Big Bear’ in the movie (ONG BAK)

“Give more at the gym to get more out of life.”  Jason has over 20 years’ experience in martial arts and the fitness industry.
A keen enthusiast of Muay Thai, Jason’s passion for the national sport of Thailand began while studying at university in New Zealand and has continued ever since. Jason joined Malvern Martial Arts in 1998 first as a member, fighting for the gym and capturing a State Title in the process. 
Jason takes the popular Fitness Boxing and the Muay Thai program here at Malven Martial Arts.
As a former fighter, Jason knows what it takes to get ready to step into the ring, but these days he dedicates his time to helping members and clients achieve their fitness goals.
Qualified with Certificates 3 and 4 in Gym Coaching and Personal Training, he brings a wealth of knowledge and an enquiring mind when it comes to assisting his clients.

Chris teaches our Technique Kickboxing and our intense Bag Attack classes at Malvern Martial Arts and is one of our senior Striking coaches.
 At the age of 15 Chris's passion for martial arts drove him to compete in various Shotokan Karate tournaments, eventually taking him through to Kickboxing/Boxing where he also trained with the some of the best in the fight game. He is a licensed professional boxing, kickboxing and Combat Sports Trainer and holds a Certificate IV in Personal Training. Chris has a dynamic and friendly approach towards his Personal and Group training sessions.
 From resistance training to weight loss, Chris's extensive knowledge as a fitness professional and support will definitely keep you on track
